Hamakom Sheli School
Hamakom Shelà is the first Hebrew school for children, adolescents and young people with special educational needs. The school was born more than 30 years ago, at the initiative of a group of parents to provide schooling, within a Jewish framework, to their children with intellectual disabilities.
Over the years, Hamakom Shelà was incorporated into official education under the General Directorate of Private Management Schools. It is dedicated to primary and post-primary education with job training.
Much more than a school, it is a place full of joy and warmth for the development of a full life.
Hamakom ShelÃ, since its inception, has carried out its projects with a strong inclusive orientation through a device, with great potential in the cognitive-affective-social and cultural development of the students.
Promoting the processes of self-determination and independence are central objectives of schooling.
Knowing what you want to do and who you want to be is an essential part of the possibilities of family, work, social and cultural inclusion. It is an institution where children come to learn and try to succeed in life.
Within the school, many activities are carried out such as computing, psychological guidance, psycho-pedagogical, psychomotor skills, physical education, kinesiology, swimming, speech therapy, music therapy, Rikudim, cooking workshops, crafts and theater.
